We were given 1997 mazda 626 that is not running and were thinking of fixing it and giving it to our son for his 16th birthday. It cranks but does not start. I have a 2002 VW GTI. Usually every morning when I start my car the red coolant temp light flashes. I will turn my car off let it rest and start it again. Sometimes it will come back on but, usually it stays off and I continue about my day until the next morning when it happens again. I have checked the coolant levels which seem to be normal. I have also checked the fuses which none seem to be blown. Any suggestions on what I should do???
